The Planetrise II. Ethiopian Medical Mission is about to begin. On May 25, 2024, a medical mission organized by our Association and the Institute of African Studies at Óbuda University will depart for the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa. Over the course of two weeks, five Hungarian doctors will assist their local colleagues in their work.

You might remember that in 2022, we were in Uganda with the Jane Goodall Institute as part of the "Harbors and School Boats to Uganda!" project, supported by Hungary Helps. At the school on Bwama Island in Lake Bunyonyi, 400 children attend, and only a few of them can swim.

We held interactive environmental education sessions for preschoolers. As part of the Hierotheosz Association's program titled "Attitude Formation Education, Awareness," we visited kindergartens in recent days, where we conducted fun and educational sessions on waste recycling and reusing materials.

We screened our films shot in Antarctica at the Besisek in the World event. The event, organized by the Bessenyei György High School in Kisvárda, featured short films filmed around the waters and islands of Antarctica, aimed at high school students interested in geography and biology.

Once again, England, once again, CICD! A few days ago, after a tough 40-hour journey, we safely returned to our base, our school at CICD. In Portugal, we not only explored the coastline and went on trips, but we also shared our experiences from the past 6 months in Zambia with the public.

Since 2018, July 14th has been recognized as World Chimpanzee Day. It marks the day in 1960 when Dr. Jane Goodall first set foot on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in Gombe, Tanzania, to study these mysterious and fascinating creatures, forever changing our relationship with wildlife and nature.

Back in April, when we traveled to the capital, Lusaka, we met some really interesting characters at our accommodation. Among them was a guy from Turkey, who was conducting business activities in the city. They say the African sunshine has a positive effect on the body, especially the skin. Well… after nearly 6 months of being in Zambia, I have a few questions about that.

A few weeks ago, I received some questions about what the stores look like in Zambia! So… the small "shop" shown in the picture is the most common type around our area. At the time the photo was taken, it was empty because it was Sunday, and the locals are typically at church during that time.
