We organize programs that promote dialogue between communities, reduce prejudice, and contribute to building social harmony. We believe that preserving cultural values is key to the development of communities.
Strengthening community cohesion and ensuring basic human needs are fundamental conditions for social stability. In our work, we support self-organizing initiatives of local communities and offer solutions to food and nutrition security issues.
Health preservation and healing activities are the cornerstones of the well-being of our communities. Our association works through medical missions, health programs, and community campaigns to enable as many of our fellow human beings as possible to develop a healthy lifestyle.
The Planetrise Cultural and Environmental Association was founded in 2003 by a couple of enthusiastic young people and is based in Kisvárda.
Our goal is to promote the process of sustainable development, the preservation of diverse culture, and the development of a healthy lifestyle at all levels of society in order to establish a more livable, more unified world.
Together with our collaborative partners, we operate on five continents to contribute to change globally.
So far, we have sent more than 150 volunteers to development projects.

Ilona had a visit to the Child Legacy programme in Malawi, arriving with a donation from the Hungarian Africa Society (AHU): she handed over 300 pairs of glasses to the ophthalmology department. One of our members, Ilona Asztalos, arrived in Blantyre last week. During her six-week mission, she will be teaching the basics of photography to children at the Jacaranda Foundation School, continuing our tree-planting project which began in 2016, and delivering our donations to various educational and healthcare institutions.
We were once again present at the LeszFeszt Civil Space, where attendees had the opportunity to view a mobile version of the highly successful Contrast Exhibition (a family- and youth-saving project). Visitors could also try out an obstacle course, where they had to navigate while wearing glasses that simulated the effects of drugs and alcohol.
This year, the Planetrise Association was once again a mentor for one of the theatre companies participating in the Hungarian Theatres Festival in Kisvárda. On this occasion, we hosted the Tamási Áron Theatre from Sfântu Gheorghe.
