A few weeks ago, I shared why I truly enjoy markets both in Hungary and here in Zambia. However, today I'm showing a slightly different perspective, and I think this is the first market I don't really like.

There is a community in Africa where people live in such extreme poverty that their daily challenges include access to clean drinking water and securing enough food to survive. In this environment, the people do not know what tomorrow will bring… who will live to see it and who won't.

This time, I won't bore you with any unusual talks. Instead, I've brought you a traditional Zambian dish: Nshima, Kapenta, Chiwawa, and a little bit of red beans.

My friend, Arnold. Arnold is one of the drivers and also a colleague at the DAPP organization. He was one of the drivers assigned to take care of our team on the day of our arrival, making sure we were safely transferred from the airport to our accommodation.

I really love going to the market, and I have good reasons for it.
The atmosphere at the market is always great. There's a wide and high-quality selection of vegetables and fruits. The freshly baked sausages and blood sausages (with plenty of mustard, of course) are delicious and affordable. On top of that, being able to haggle...

I think I can now definitely say that after a month, the majority of the challenges and difficulties that come with living in an African environment have shown themselves. The initial novelties have turned into routine, and the faster pace of work that we were used to has been considerably slowed down by the working tempo here... it's still hard...
